Garden Pool reopens …… following a stocking after the troubles of the summer the Garden Pool at Brineton reopens Sunday 8th December ……
Total Flyfishfer Magazine
The editor of TFM Andy Taylor contacted Alan Cain from the Salopians after hearing about our efforts to get Juniors involved in the sport,it is a subject TFM are keenly promoting,as a result of various discussions the TFM editor visited Brineton on Thursday 5th May to meet some of our Juniors and hopefully get some photo`s of them actually catching fish as the last three visits to other fisheries failed to land a fish !. Many thanks to Joe Daffern,Alex Hughes,James Price,Dillon Slim and later Tom New for making the effort to attend, the day was a great success, within a few casts both Alex Hughes and Joe Daffern were into large fish on the Wrekin pool,we then moved onto the Garden pool, again the action was tremendous, with Joe,Alex and James all landing fish, the editor even had a go himself and continued to catch on the Garden pool,Andy was satisfied he had enough photo`s of the Juniors catching fish,we then got together to discus the editorial content of the article,it was agreed Alan Cain and Chris Caddick would would do a profile of the Salopians and Junior membership whilst Alex and Joe would write about what appeals to Juniors who join the sport.
I would like to thank Chris Caddick for his support on the day and Derek Webster for his assistance during the day, advising the juniors on which tackle and flies to use.
The article will be published in the July edition of The Total Flyfisher magazine.
